About
Australian metal smith Helen Paterson graduated with the Advanced Diploma in Engineering Technology Specialising in Jewellery in 2013 at Box Hill Institute of Tafe.
Helen uses her hands to fabricate jewellery that is subtlety representative of her view, feel and the flow of nature around her.
Walking in the woods, where leaves and trees sway in the breeze, inspires Helen. The lines she sees in bark, flowers, and leaves are reinterpreted in the tactility of her pieces. Helen also enjoys walking along the beach finding unique shells and pieces of coral to create her jewellery.
Helen hand forges most of her pieces, which includes her Australian collection but is now also incorporating casting in her newer pieces. This is evidenced in her shells and coral collection.
Each piece is created in her Studio in Byron Bayby hand so each piece is subtly different.
